You may choose the wood or woods/finish. I recommend ash for strong and flexible spindles and also laminated ash for strong arch buttresses. The seat and back crest can be made of woods which contrast with the legs and spindles. In the pictures are select figured poplar seats. The finish consists of several coats of traditional clear varnish.

The chair is then waxed and buffed.
